Tools and Means for action

Our means for activities implementation are based on Beneficiaries, Partners and Stakeholders through:

• Building partnerships with local, regional and international stakeholders.

• Networking with local organizations, local media and experts from local community.

TAM has managed to build partnership with nongovernmental organizations and also continuously seeks to cultivate relationships, build networks with the support of regional associations, and explore new opportunities with entities and individuals who share its vision. As part of its main goal to involve and incorporate women in the media, and considering the importance of providing a media dimension in all its projects, the organization also works up close and personal with local TV channels all over West Bank.

• Training
• Production
• Broadcasting, conferences, workshops and festivals.

TAM's projects are based on the following:

•Needs Assessment
Before implementing projects, TAM studies first the needs of the target group and according to these study results, TAM builds a project that can meet theses identified needs.

•Media Production
Since television programs can educate and create debates within the society, TAM is creating, organizing and monitoring innovative programs, such as talk shows, short films and documentaries about subjects related to the progress of Palestinian society towards modernity, mainly focusing on gender issues.

•Broadcasting and Publishing
TAM broadcasts media productions through the different media forms, festivals and public gatherings to reach its goals.
TAM provides for free space of expression in various media channels, especially for women.

•Training
o Training media professionals on ethical practice can change the image of women in the Palestinian media, thus, ameliorate the awareness of the Palestinian audience about women’s rights and gender issues.
The training always includes practical and participative aspects.

Training media workers on film-making techniques that include editing, reporting, directing, lighting, filming, etc. with as a result, the production of gender sensitive materials. Gender issues, non-violence and conflict resolution at the personal level, are taken into consideration in all stages of the trainings.
o Training feminists' leaders on giving media and public speeches.
o Training non-media professionals

Participatory Video (PV) training is a tool for individual and group empowerment.

Individuals, who have never touched a camera, learn how to record footage, talk in front of the camera or make a movie through training and practice.

The communication skills and the openness are the focus here. Videos are used to develop the confidence and self-esteem of participants, to encourage creative expression, develop critical awareness on major concerns relative to human rights, democracy and women issues, to provide a means for them to communicate with others.

Each training project includes productions of material by the trainees and broadcasting on local TV and/or on public places.
